The PINcentive Blog Hop: Week 16 (Koltureshoq is Featured!)

I feel like I’m on a magical adventure in blog land. My DIY Zipper and Chain was featured on the PINcentive Blog Hop this week which means that my project gets pinned 31 times by the pinners of the Pinterest Incentive Program as well as all those who are linking up this week. I also get to co-host the link party this week and get priority seating at the party. If that’s not a magic carpet ride, I don’t know what is.

I’m pretty new to link parties, much less how to co-host one. So I’ll hand you over to Elena to tell you how it works…..

Guess what?  We’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaccck!  Did you miss us?  We missed you!  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.  Mostly, though, we hope you are ready to get your party on!
Welcome to the sixteenth week of the blog hop!  As always, a BIG THANK YOU is in order to everyone that has been linking up.  More so for making it EXTREMELY difficult for our co-hosts to choose winners each week and providing us with such great recipes, crafts, tips, parenting advice, tutorials, (you name it)!  Your content has truly been a pleasure to read, and it keeps getting better each week!

If this is your first time linking up; WELCOME!  I am extremely excited to provide this link up for you today and the opportunity for you to increase your traffic, followers, and improve your page rank!

Arm Candy Update + I Was Featured AGAIN! on Two It Yourself Link It or Lump It Link Party

Arm Candy by Koltureshoq 4

Here’s an update on my Arm Candy by Koltureshoq project. I totally love how they how they turned out. What do you think? I’d really love to hear from you.

In other not-really-related-but-certainly-relevant-and-exciting news.

I can hardly believe my luck. I’ve only been blogging a couple of months now (hope I don’t sound like a broken record already) and I’ve already been featured on the Two It Yourself Link It or Lump It Link Party. TWICE! Yup. I got a message from Melissa @ Two It Yourself saying that my DIY Zipper and Chain Bracelet was featured at the last link party.

It’s such a great feeling doing what you love and having people appreciate your work. And its such an honor to get the opportunity to link up with so many creative people through link parties such as the Two It Yourself Link It or Lump It Link Party.

The Two It Yourself Link It or Lump It Link Party is hosted by 3 awesome and creative geniuses – Melissa from Two It Yourself, Allison from Dream A Little Bigger and Amy from Delineate Your Dwelling. Please do well to drop by their blogs to see their really great projects and get inspiration to try out a few. By the way, my first feature was my DIY Seed Beads & Metal Necklace and I also proudly present my ‘I was featured’ badge (crowd screaming in delight…….lol).

Lots of love,

Happy Boxing Day – A Very Short Post

Now I know I’m supposed to publish a post every single day (or at least very often) if I want to remain relevant in the blogosphere and I if want my creative juices to remain bubbly in my pot of, well, creative juices. But with sooo much on my hands, on my plate and in my mouth (food, that is), it seems almost impossible.

This is to all those who are in the same dilemma as I am and can hardly resist comparing which is better – the fruit cake or the chocolate pudding, jollof rice or fried rice, beef or chicken, soda or cocktail (oh well, I might as well have them all. Besides, I’m gonna start that diet plan after the Christmas holidays). Hmmmm…..enough said.

Now off to include ‘diet plan’ and ‘exercise’ in my list of new year resolutions…..hahahhahaha.

Happy Boxing Day people!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hope you get to spend quality time with your close friends and family this holiday. Remember (and not to sound cliche), its the little things that really do matter. For instance, my siblings and I are have an ice cream date in 30 minutes and although its just ice cream, all the goofing around and silly jokes will mean so much to us.

Lots of cooking, secret Santa and friends tomorrow and next. I can hardly wait to catch on what’s going on in who’s life right now.

The 2 dances I’m coordinating in church will be performed tomorrow and I’m excited (and a bit nervous). Wish me luck.

Here’s to a great holiday, lots of love & laughter, and to a deeper appreciation of The One who’s birth we celebrate.

Lots of love,

Arm Candy Update

I made a bracelet for my colleague Seun and all the guys in my office have literally been scrambling for theirs since then. Let’s just say that business opened a little early (was supposed to start selling in 2014)….yay!!!. Here’s a pix of the one i gave to Seun. The next couple of posts will show the new ones I make them. With Christmas plans at home, in church and in the office, there’s hardly time to write a tutorial, so I hope you enjoy the pictures.

DIY Zipper and Chain Bracelet

DIY Zipper and Chain Bracelet

Sorry I’ve been quiet all week (well, almost all week). I’ve been neck deep in work (both my 9-5 and my business). And with Christmas just around the corner, I’ve got only 2 rehearsals with the kids in church before their dance performance and its driving me crazy. Technique, grace, emotion, attitude , costumes, movement, stage, etc……I’m pretty sure you get the picture. I’m exhausted …..stretch….yawn.

No matter how busy I am however, it is truly difficult for me to tear myself away from my craft mess. The recent result of my addiction is this really pretty zipper and chain bracelet that looks like I bought it off the rack at some fashion store. At least that’s what my colleagues have been saying……remember me holding out my imaginary compliment basket? …. hehehehe.

Anyways, I do have time for a quick tutorial, my lovelies.  Unfortunately, I was too caught up and pressed for time (my eyes were closing) to take pictures of the step by step process. But not to worry; its pretty simple and quick too.

Here’s what you’ll need;

  • Zipper (preferably with gold or silver teeth)
  • Curb chain (in gold or silver)
  • Glue
  • Ribbon clamps and end clasps

  1. Wrap the zipper around your wrist and cut it according to your desired length (mine was about 7 inches). Be sure not to cut off the part where you have the zip head.
  2. Close each of the zipper end with a ribbon clamp
  3. Cut out 2 pieces of the curb chain (6 inches each).
  4. Spread glue on either side of the zipper teeth and lay each of the curb chains on the glue. Allow to dry.
  5. Attach the end clasps.
  6. Wait for it…….yeah….go rock! (lol)

DIY Zipper and Chain Bracelet 7

To better secure the chain, I sewed each end to the zipper using a gold thread.

If you like to see a tutorial complete with pictures, check out  this tutorial by Miss Bloom. It’s in Greek, so you may need to translate using Google. I’m not sure if that’s where I first saw the bracelet but when I searched the web for the right tutorial, I found this one. Awesome either way.

I hope you get inspired to make your own zipper and chain bracelet. I know I had fun doing it ( even though I was half asleep, but it does show my motivation, right?)

Please follow Koltureshoq to get new posts on my projects (button is to your left). It would make my day…smile. And don’t forget to share with your friends.

Ok , so I’m off to salsa….yay!!! See you soon.

Lots of love from craft (and dance)heaven,
